PUNE: A 27-year-old computer engineer allegedly from Andhra Pradesh jumped to his death from the sixth floor of his residential building in Hinjewadi on Thursday.
The engineer, Vidyasagar Patha, was working with a multinational software company in Hinjewadi for the last few years. “We found a four-line suicide note, written on a tissue paper, in the flat where Patha was staying. We suspect that Patha may have ended his life following a failed relationship,” an officer from the Hinjewadi police said.
The officer said Patha was staying in a flat on the sixth floor of a housing complex in the Phase-III of the Rajiv Gandhi Infotech Park. “He was sharing the flat with his friends. On Thursday morning, Patha’s father, who stays in Andhra Pradesh, contacted us, informing about the incident,” he said.
After reaching the spot, police took Patha to a nearby hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival by the doctors. “His body was handed over to his parents after the post-mortem,” the officer said, adding that further investigation was on.
